…
all praise and honor and glory to God the Father, who by His grace chose us from before the creation of the universe, not because of works we’ve done or will do but solely because of His great love with which He loved us. and all praise and honor and glory to His only Son Jesus Christ, who in His love for us took upon Himself the cup of wrath reserved for sinners such as myself and died on the cross; and having been raised from the dead, He conquered sin and death, now is seated at the right hand of God, interceding on our behalf, and will return once and for all to judge the world. and all praise and honor and glory to the Holy Spirit, who also intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words, who resides in us and causes us to become more like Christ.
through His glorious gospel, Christ gave me life and called me a friend rather than an enemy. by His grace alone, God opened my once blind eyes and my once deaf ears and my once dull tongue to see His glory, hear His truth, and taste and savor His goodness. once foolish and useless to me, Scripture now is the only source of wisdom i’ll bank on.
be blessed, loved, magnified, lifted high, treasured, and glorified in my life, O Christ. incline my heart to your glorious testimonies, your Word that gives life and saves souls, so that i may obey You wholeheartedly with joy. grow me in discipline and self-control also, that i may still choose to obey You on the days when i just don’t feel like obeying. oh Lord, on more days than i would like to admit, i do not feel like obeying you. but especially on those days, reveal to me more and more the true worth of godliness and the pursuit of You in my life. use me to reveal Your marvelous truth to those around me. may Your name be exalted in my life, and not my own. may Your name be exalted in my life, and all of it - not just on Sundays, not just during QTs, not just during accountability meetups or meals or studying - may Your all-satisfying name be exalted greatly in ALL of my life. amen.
